We at Reclaiming Lives are excited to announce we have hired a full time Recovery Café Manager.
Brandon Orr and I met through mutual friend and board member, Beau Jeska. What stood out to me the first time Brandon and I had a chance to sit and talk was how passionate he was about recovery. If you have met Brandon, you know what I mean.
Not too long after this, Brandon agreed to become a volunteer Circle Leaders and has been with us since the Café doors opened in June of last year. Six months later, we secured funding for staff positions and he was the first person we hired.
Brandon is a state certified peer mentor who began his career at Boulder Care, a tele-medicine provider that offers Medication Assisted Treatment over the internet. The experience Brandon gained in working with those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction at Boulder Care led us to choose him for this position.
Brandon absolutely loves people and will do most anything to help them succeed and he’s just a fun guy to work with! His ability to relate to people is a reflection of his own recovery story and the things he has overcome in his addiction.
You can see his passion for recovery on our Reclaiming Lives/Recovery Café Facebook page. In response to Covid-19, Brandon began hosting live interviews four days a week with people in recovery. The focus of these Live shows is on the different pathways in recovery. We love seeing the response to these shows and believe they have been a source of encouragement to people in our community during this challenging time.
